CCNP ENSLD is a Cisco professional concentration certification validating skills to design enterprise networks, covering advanced addressing, routing, campus, WAN, security, network services and software defined access.

Designing Cisco Enterprise Networks with the Exam Included

Designing Cisco Enterprise Networks (ENSLD) Certification

CCNP ENSLD (300-420) is one of the concentration exams for the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise certification, and it is the design specialisation of the track. The exam validates your ability to design enterprise networks, including advanced addressing and routing solutions, advanced enterprise campus networks, WAN, security services, network services and software defined access. Passing it earns the Cisco Certified Specialist, Enterprise Design credential and satisfies the concentration requirement for CCNP Enterprise. ENSLD is the official replacement for the older CCDA and CCDP design certifications.

What this course covers

You learn to make real design decisions rather than memorise configurations: structured design methodology, advanced IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, and routing design across EIGRP, OSPF, BGP and IS-IS. You then design highly available enterprise campus networks using FHRP, BFD and Spanning Tree, plan WAN and SD-WAN connectivity, and design for network services, security services and software defined access. The focus is architecture and the trade-offs a designer weighs when building campus and WAN networks that connect cleanly to the cloud.

Who it suits and where it fits

ENSLD suits network engineers moving into design and architecture, and candidates completing CCNP Enterprise. The usual path is to pass the core exam first with the ENCOR course, then add ENSLD as your concentration. If you are still at associate level, begin with the CCNA certification course. If you would rather concentrate on advanced routing, wireless design or automation, see the ENARSI course, the ENWLSD course or the ENAUTO course.

Logitrain has trained over 15,000 professionals since 2004. The official 300-420 ENSLD exam fee is included, so you can sit the exam within three months of finishing the course.

The ENSLD concentration proves enterprise network design skill, the architect-level thinking that sits above day-to-day configuration and commands some of the better paid roles in networking. Paired with ENCOR it completes CCNP Enterprise, a professional level credential that is widely recognised in Australian network engineer and network architect job ads. As the official replacement for CCDA and CCDP, it is also the current home for anyone who held or was working toward those older design certifications.

With Logitrain you receive the included official 300-420 exam fee, the digital course material you keep, and the price beat guarantee on the course fee. Sit the exam at the Logitrain Pearson VUE testing centre, at any other Pearson VUE centre, or online with Pearson VUE proctoring. Training is delivered in-person in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra, plus live online across Australia, all delivered live in real time with a trainer.

There are no mandatory prerequisite certifications. Cisco assumes a solid grounding in enterprise routing and switching, and several years of hands on network experience is recommended before attempting 300-420, since design work builds on practical knowledge of campus networks and WANs. Most candidates pass the core exam first, so the ENCOR course is the recommended companion. If you are newer to networking, the CCNA course is the better place to start.

Candidates can achieve this certification by passing the following exam.

  • 300-420 ENSLD, Designing Cisco Enterprise Networks, a CCNP Enterprise concentration exam

You can book and sit the exam within three months of finishing your course. Sit it at the Logitrain test centre, at any other Pearson VUE test centre, or online through Pearson VUE online proctoring from a private space.

Exam format: approximately 55 to 65 multiple choice questions, 90 minutes. Cisco does not publish a fixed passing score for this exam.

The digital course material for the 300-420 ENSLD exam is included, mapped to the full exam blueprint and kept for revision and on the job reference.

  • Apply a structured enterprise network design methodology
  • Design advanced IPv4 and IPv6 addressing solutions
  • Design EIGRP, OSPF, BGP and IS-IS routing for the enterprise
  • Design highly available enterprise campus networks with FHRP, BFD and Spanning Tree
  • Design route summarisation and route filtering strategies
  • Design WAN and SD-WAN connectivity
  • Design network services and security services into the architecture
  • Design software defined access (SDA) and network virtualisation
