PTE Academic Test Overview
PTE examination contains 4 modules PTE Writing, PTE Speaking, PTE Reading, and PTE listening. It is a single 3-hour test session and is taken at only authorised Pearson test centre. Exam is split into three examination modules where speaking and writing are considered as one part, listening and reading another part. They have more than twenty formats of questions which range from multiple choice to writing an essay.
Speaking and writing: the answering time for this section varies between 77-93 minutes and is based on number of questions you got in the exam. Questions will be based on reading a sentence loud, repeating a sentence, describing an image, re-telling a lecture, answering a short question, summarising a given essay and writing an essay where each essay would be given a time of 30 minutes.
PTE Reading will last between 32-41 minutes depending on the number of questions in the exams. The question will be asked in different formats like filling in the blanks, answering multiple choice questions, re-ordering paragraphs and drag in the write answer.
The last module is Listening and it lasts in between 45 to 57 minutes and exam questions are based on summarising the spoken text, answering multiple choice questions, filling in the blanks, highlighting the correct summary, selecting the missing word, highlighting the incorrect words and writing sentences from dictation.
