The MTA Database Administration Fundamentals training course aims to equip candidates with the introductory knowledge of and skills with databases, including relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server. This is a foundation-level course which acts as a first step toward achieving higher level certifications including MCSA and MCSE.
The MTA Database Fundamentals training course covers various concepts which are necessary to get the basic understanding of database management systems including data storage in tables, definition of tables, types of databases, relational databases, data manipulation language (DML), data definition language(DDL), T-SQL, data types and their storage requirements and so on.
After completing the MTA Database training course the student will be able to demonstrate thorough knowledge in creating tables in databases, creating their views, creating functions and stored procedures, performing various functions such as SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE data, using joins as well as UNION and INTERSECT,normalisation and its significance, keys – primary, foreign and composite, indexes, database security concepts and much more.

- Understand the reason for keys in a database, choose appropriate primary keys, select appropriate data type for keys, select appropriate fields for composite keys, understand the relationship between foreign and primary keys
- Understand indexes
- Understand clustered and non-clustered indexes and their purpose in a database
- Understand database security concepts
- Understand the need to secure a database, what objects can be secured, what objects should be secured, user accounts, and roles
- Understand database backups and restore
- Understand various backup types, such as full and incremental, importance of backups, how to restore a database
Take the certification exam within 3 months of course / module completion
