There are no formal prerequisites for the SC-300 course or exam. To get the most from it, you should be comfortable with core security concepts such as least privilege, defence in depth and the Zero Trust model, be familiar with identity concepts such as authentication and authorisation, and have some experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365 and Azure. The SC-900 fundamentals certification is a helpful starting point if you are newer to security.

Candidates can achieve this certification by passing the following exam.

• SC-300: Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator

You can book and sit the exam within three months of finishing your course. Sit it at the Logitrain test centre, at any other Pearson VUE test centre, or online through Pearson VUE online proctoring from a private space.

Exam format: 40 to 60 questions, about 100 minutes, with a passing score of 700 on a scale of 1000. Question types include multiple choice, case studies, drag-and-drop and interactive items. It is the current version and aligns to the Microsoft SC-300 exam objectives.
