The Fortinet NSE 4 course gives you the hands-on skills to deploy, configure, manage and monitor FortiGate next-generation firewalls running FortiOS. It prepares you for the current exam, Fortinet NSE 4 – FortiOS 7.6 Administrator (NSE4_FGT_AD-7.6), which Fortinet previously called the FCP – FortiGate Administrator exam. Passing it earns the FortiGate Administrator credential and counts as one of the two exams that make up the Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) certification, the other being an NSE 5 exam in your chosen track. The exam is not included in the course fee. It is booked and paid separately through Pearson VUE. As an authorised test centre, you can sit the exam with us, at another VUE centre, or online.
Exam format: 50 to 55 multiple choice and scenario based questions, 90 minutes, scored on a pass or fail basis. Fortinet does not publish a numeric passing score. The exam is proctored and based on FortiOS 7.6. It is the current version, and it replaced the earlier exam that Fortinet named FCP – FortiGate Administrator. To earn the full Fortinet Certified Professional certification, you pass this exam together with one NSE 5 exam in the same track. The exam fee is around $625 in Australian dollars including GST, converted from the vendor price of about USD 400.

Is NSE 4 the same as the FCP FortiGate Administrator?
Yes. Fortinet renamed the FCP – FortiGate Administrator exam to NSE 4 – FortiOS Administrator on 15 October 2025. The content is the same. NSE 4 is now an exam level within the Fortinet Certified Professional structure rather than a standalone certification name.

Yes. The NSE 4 name is still used and the credential is current under the renamed program. A Fortinet certification is valid for two years, after which you recertify by passing a current exam at the same or a higher level.
