IIBA core Business Analysis certifications are
-Entry Certificate in Business Analysis ECBA: Suitable for individuals entering the BA profession for professionals transitioning careers, new graduates. Provides practical knowledge or General Awareness.
-Certification of Competency in Business Analysis CCBA: For current ECBAs or who are already BAs who want to progress, who are working as BAs, should have some work experience and having some knowledge area expertise. The subject focuses on Elicitation and collaboration, Requirement life cycle management, six BABOK knowledge areas.
-Certified Business Analysis professional CBAP: This is for Current BAs, BA consultants, Trainers. Hold have at least 4 years of experience. Case study-based examinations.
IIBA has also offering Specialized Certifications-Agile Analysis Certification IIBA ACC: For one who wants to learn Analysis with Agile practices as an extension. The main topics covered are Agile mindset, strategy horizon, Initiative horizon, delivery. The certification lasts for 3 years
PMI- Professional in Business Analysis PBA certification:
Offered by the Project Management Institute. This is designed for BAs who work with programs or program managers who work with BAs. This certification lasts for 3 years and will expire after that, then you need to re-apply.
IREB certified professional for Requirements engineering: Designed for requirement engineers. It has 3 levels. The Foundation level with basics of RE. Advanced level with Requirements Elicitation and consolidation, Modelling, Management. Then there is Expert level. The certification won’t expire and no need to renew.
The chartered institute for IT BCS also provides BA Certifications: There are several levels. Foundation: For beginners, to develop an understanding of the principles and approaches.
Practitioner: To develop specialist practical skills.
Professional: To become a chartered IT professional or Business Analysis expert. Demonstrate specialist analytical skills.
