Choosing the best Microsoft Certification make us walk through the complicated process of choosing Microsoft Certifications and the differences among them. Microsoft offers premium Certification path that show our working knowledge of all the software and hardware that they deal with. There are mainly three categories of microsoft certifications available today which help us take our career to the next level and propel us forward in the tech sector.
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
It is a base level for starting with Microsoft. It involves taking 2 or 3 exams in six broad specific subject areas that we can focus on. These exams test our knowledge and application showing that we are ready to work with a specific Microsoft Technology and take the required exams that sets us to become an associate. Each area defines more specific, specialized skills. As the base standard for the modern server, Windows 2016 is the future of server set-ups and cloud skills are highly desired. For Windows Server 2016 we have to take 3 exams, 70-740 (Installation, Storage, and Compute with Windows Server 2016), 70-741 (Networking with Windows Server 2016), and 70-742(Identity with Windows Server 2016). For the MSCA in Cloud Platforms, you take any 2 exams from 70-532, 70-533, 70-534, 70-473, and 70-475.
Microsoft Certified Systems Expert (MCSE)
After we become an Associate, the way to become a Microsoft Certified System Expert (MCSE) is relatively simple. The expert certification requires that we first complete the associate level certification. Getting an MSCA requires us to simply study for one more elective exam. Passing any of these elective courses and obtaining the MSCE status shows we are trained at the highest level in a specific Microsoft Technology. One path that is highly recommended in the IT Sector today is that of Data Management. The MCSE in Data Management & Analytics is becoming more and more valuable everyday as data needs to be collected, organized, explored, and used in an efficient fashion. For this, it is recommended to take the 70-773 and 70-774 exams.
Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD)
The final part of the certification is that of the Microsoft Certified System Developer (MCSD) . This route belongs to those who are creative problem solvers and want to work in Web and Mobile App Building. This track consists of two different MSCA levels. It is very specific and the skillset required is different from the other IT skills as we need to know and be familiar with several programming and markup languages such as Java, C and CSS. The MSCD as a unique certification gets us thrilling and challenging jobs . For this certification we can take 70-483 and 70-357 along with an elective exam. Since there is only one MSCD, it is a bit harder to find in the market.
While there are so many pathways with Microsoft, it can be very hard to pick the best route to follow. The three most demanded categories are Cloud Platform & Infrastructure, App Builder, and Data Management & Analytics. Pursuing these categories builds a foundation for jobs such Data and Server Management, Web and App Developer, and Server Engineer. From these three broad categories, we pick a best MSCD, MCSA, and MCSE certification.
